Inter have completed the signing of Cameroon international goalkeeper Andre Onana on a free transfer from Ajax.

The Nerazzurri released a statement on the club’s homepage confirming that the former Ajax player has signed a deal with the club. There was no mention of long the contract is for but several reports suggest it is a five year deal.

There was also no mention of the player’s wages, but it has been widely reported that he has signed a deal that will see him earn around €3 million net/year until the end of June 2026.

André Onana becomes the first Cameroonian to sign for Inter since treble hero Samuel Etoó, who joined from Barcelona in the summer of 2009 in a deal that saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic go the opposite way.

The former Barcelona youth team player becomes the fifth Cameroonian player to sign for Inter after Pierre Womé, Daniel Maa Boumsong, Samuel Ipoua and the aforementioned Samuel Etoó.

Onana joined Ajax’s youth team set up in January 2015 and made his full first team debut during the 2016/2017 season and has since then featured 214 times across all competitions, winning three Dutch league titles, two Dutch Cups and one Dutch Supercup.
