Following Mauro Icardi’s departure to Paris Saint Germain, Alexis Sanchez will take up the number seven shirt at Inter, the club have just confirmed through their social media channels.

Sanchez, who arrived on a season long loan from Premier League side Manchester United, wanted the number seven shirt when he arrived and his wishes have now been granted.

Ahead of Sunday’s match away to Cagliari, which Inter won 2-1, it was announced that Federico Dimarco would be vacating the number 11 shirt so the Chilean international could wear it but now he will wear the number seven, which has been famously worn by the likes of Luis Figo at Inter.

Sanchez has worn the number seven shirt at Udinese, Arsenal and most recently Manchester United.

This will undoubtedly be welcome news to fans who will now be able to purchase an Inter shirt with Sanchez’s name and number should they so wish.
