RAAL La Louvière have confirmed the signings of Alexis Beka Beka (24) and Théo Epailly (26), as the Belgian outfit bolsters its squad following promotion to the Jupiler Pro League, according to a club comminuqué.
Beka Beka, a product of the Caen academy, joins on a two-year deal after a turbulent few seasons. The central midfielder left France for Lokomotiv Moscow in 2021 before a €12m move to OGC Nice a year later. Following a difficult spell marked by mental health struggles – including a high-profile attempt to take his own life in September 2023 – Beka Beka terminated his contract with Nice last summer and returned briefly to Caen, playing eight matches and scoring once for the reserve side in National 3.
Meanwhile, Epailly – an ex-PSG youth player – signs after a standout season at Boulogne-sur-Mer in National (third tier), where he recorded 9 goals and 5 assists in 35 appearances. The left winger has never played professional football but has gradually climbed the French amateur pyramid, featuring for Sannois-St-Gratien and UF Mâconnais before his breakout campaign.
The French contingent at La Louvière is growing, with the likes of Djibril Lamengo, Maxence Maisonneuve, Nolan Gillot, Kenny Nagera (also ex-PSG), and Owen Maës already at the club.GFFN | George Boxall
