Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have this evening announced the departure of 24-year-old English winger Ademola Lookman on a permanent basis to Atalanta for a reported €12m.

Lookman spent last season on loan at Premier League side Leicester City, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 42 games across all competitions. The Englishman also spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Fulham, where he contributed towards eight goals.

Since his €17m move from Everton to Leipzig in July 2019, Lookman has played just 24 games across all competitions for the German side, scoring five and creating four.

Almost recouping the fee that Leipzig paid for Lookman, they could use that to pursue a move for Chelsea forward Timo Werner. The Germany international would be open to a return to Leipzig and would also be willing to take a pay cut. However after signing David Raum from Hoffenheim, Leipzig would rather loan the German forward, but Chelsea want a reported fee of €33m.
