After news had broken from il Corriere della Sera suggesting Zlatan Ibrahimovic had tested positive for Coronavirus, the club have now confirmed it.

In a statement on their official website Milan have revealed that Ibrahimovic has tested positive for COVID-19 following a second round of swab tests ahead of tonight’s game against Bodø/Glimt.

The club has informed the relevant authorities and the player has been promptly placed in quarantine at home, while all other team members and staff have tested negative.

As a result, it is expected that young striker Lorenzo Colombo will lead the line for the Rossoneri against the high-flying Norwegian side, with Pioli unable to call upon the suspended Ante Rebic or Rafael Leao, who is not yet back at fitness after recovering from COVID himself.

Meanwhile, Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio, Leo Duarte and Andrea Conti are all also out, meaning Pioli has a selection nightmare on his hands if a defender gets injured.
