Olympique Lyonnais have completed the signing of Brazilian left-back Abner Vinicius (24), the club have confirmed. The full-back joins on a five-year deal.
Lyon, who are preparing for a European campaign in the UEFA Europa League next season, are looking to strengthen their side. Having secured the future of manager Pierre Sage, who has signed a deal until 2026, attention has turned to strengthening their first-team squad.
The loans of Saïd Benrahma and Orel Mangala have been made permanent, whilst the arrival of Moussa Niakhaté for a club-record fee, was confirmed on Thursday. Abner has become the latest player to join Lyon. He replaces compatriot Henrique, who left OL upon the expiry of his contract.
Abner, who joined Real Betis in January 2023, arrives for an €8m fee. The La Liga side have a 20% sell-on percentage included in the deal. The Brazilian has signed a five-year deal with Les Gones.
