Real Madrid have confirmed their official 25-man squad for the group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League and new signing Iker Bravo has been included in the list.

Real Madrid had 23 of the 25 slots in the squad filled with first-team stars which left two spots open for someone from the Castilla squad to be picked.

Carlo Ancelotti had three options for the two slots in question in the form of Vinicius Tobias, who joined the club last January and summer arrivals Iker Bravo and Noel Lopez.

While youth players are usually eligible to be registered on List B of the UEFA squad, the aforementioned trio were ineligible to feature on that list due to the fact that they have not been at the club for more than three years.

And, as per the information from UEFA’s official website, Real Madrid have opted to enter Bravo and Tobias on list A of the squad to fill out the 25-man requirement. Bravo will be donning the #36 kit while Tobias will be wearing #37.

Bravo joined Real Madrid earlier this summer, arriving on loan from Bayer Leverkusen. The 17-year-old is held in high regard within the club, with Los Blancos beating arch-rivals Atletico Madrid to his signing.

While he will be a part of Raul Gonzalez’s Castilla outfit, Bravo will hope to get some minutes with the senior team given that there are no backup options in the No. 9 role for Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid have been drawn in Group F of the Champions League and will start their campaign this Tuesday night against Scottish champions Celtic.
