Wolves are interested in reported Crystal Palace and Everton target Viktor Gyokeres but it will take “a big fee” to prize him away from Coventry City this month, Alex Crook has told GiveMeSport.

The Swede is enjoying a strong season in the Championship – firing in 12 goals already to move to second in the division’s goalscoring charts.

That form has brought with it a fair bit of Premier League interest – with Crystal Palace, Everton, and Leeds United among the clubs linked this month.

It appears Wolves are on that list as well with Crook telling GiveMeSport that they hold an interest in the 24-year-old.

However, he has also highlighted the obstacle facing all of the clubs keen on Gyokeres.

Crook said: “I think Coventry want a big fee.

“So whether Wolves are willing to pay that is open to interpretation.”

It looks like it is not going to be cheap to prize Gyokeres away from the Sky Blues this month.

That’s no surprise given how important he is to them and that there are still 18 months left on his contract.

But it’s an obstacle that any of the Premier League clubs keen will have to tackle.

Wolves have already signed Matheus Cunha on loan from Atletico Madrid this month while Leeds are close to completing a deal for Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter, which may rule both clubs out of a big-money pursuit.
