Yesterday, Inzaghi confirmed that he has plans to meet with representatives of Oaktree very soon.

The coach said that tomorrow is the day that he will sit down with figures from within the US-based fund.

Oaktree representatives have already met with Inter CEOs Beppe Marotta and Alessandro Antonello.

The fund have started to coordinate with the existing Inter senior management regarding their strategy both on and off the pitch,

But the first meeting with the coach will be an important one. It will constitute the first contact between the Nerazzurri’s new owners and the man who has built the team in his image.

Oaktree Capital Planning To Build An “Inzaghi-Centric” Inter Milan

The Oaktree that Inter are taking over already has Inzaghi as one of its central figures.

The 48-year-old has been in charge for three years ago. He joined from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

And with each season that he’s been at the club, Inzaghi has become more influential.

According to the Gazzetta, Oaktree have absolutely no intention of changing that trajectory.

Far from it, the newspaper anticipate, Inzaghi’s growing importance is a trend that will only continue under the US-based ownership.

The coach has already won six trophies at Inter. He has also guided the team to a Champions League final.

From the perspective Oaktree, Inzaghi represents both stability and momentum.

Therefore, the fund will make perfectly clear to the coach that they want him at the helm for the long term.

There will then be the matter of tying down Inzaghi’s future with a new contract.

And of planning for the future of the squad.

The Gazzetta note that Oaktree are ready to make clear to Inzaghi that things won’t change much in the transfer market under their ownership.

There won’t be any sudden influx of cash to spend on flashy new signings. But nor will they be cutting key players loose against the wishes of the coach.
