Recently, AC Milan have focused on bringing in younger talent to develop, either for profit or for a route into the senior side, and it seems as though they could have found a new gem to bring to the club.
Portuguese newspaper O JOGO have reported that Milan sent a scout to watch Vitória Guimarães’ fixture against Arouca last weekend to watch winger Jota Silva.
The 24-year-old has piqued the interest of clubs across Europe this season with his goal contribution record – eight goals and four assists, including a goal in the game that the Rossoneri scout oversaw.
He is currently valued at €4million on Transfermarkt, and he has a release clause of €20m. However, there is a chance that the Diavolo could land the winger for less than this.
The report suggests that the Portuguese club has a ‘weak financial situation’ that makes January sales more likely, but in regards to Silva, they are staying resolute.
Ideally, they would like to keep the 24-year-old until the end of the season. However, if an offer deemed too good to turn down arrives, he could leave in the upcoming weeks.
Given that OGC Nice have already sent a bid for him, Milan may have to act quickly – and with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Toulouse, Nantes, Villarreal and Atalanta all interested in the winger, there may be a need to act before others have a chance to.
