Last week, New York City FC finally won on the road after their 1-0 win against Toronto FC. They still struggled to find the back of the net as they have been, for the Queens team relied on a penalty kick call to score their goal. As such, concerns remain as they return home to play against FC Cincinnati. The match will start an extremely busy May that will see the Pigeons play, at a minimum, eight games.
So, it would be great for NYCFC to begin the hectic month with all three points. However, Cincinnati is in first place in the Eastern Conference and is on a five-game winning streak. Funny enough, their lone Major League Soccer loss was against the Philadelphia Union toward the beginning of the season. Since then, they have been unbeaten in their last nine.
That is why this weekend’s battle will be a dangerous game. The Orange and Blue will be difficult to defeat, and NYCFC has to try and figure out how to do that while they are struggling. Again, the Boys in Blue’s recent struggles can mostly be blamed on their inability to score. They can be offensively threatening, but they are not capitalizing on chances where they should put the ball into the back of the net.
NYCFC might be playing at home, but truth be told, it would not matter if thousands of fans cheer them on throughout the match. Cincinnati is one of the best teams in MLS and have a strong chance of winning at Citi Field. If the Pigeons want to win, then they need to score more goals while also playing better in every aspect of their game.

May 4 is Star Wars Day, and NYCFC will be celebrating the day. Fans can dress up, and those who arrive early will get a Star Wars themed pin. Plus, there will be a fan fest beginning at 1:00 PM. At the very least, supporters should have some fun regardless of what happens on the pitch.
