In the confirmation of their squad to face Rennes, PSG have announced that Nuno Mendes (21) has been made available for selection for the first time since suffering a major hamstring injury in April 2023.

The Paris Saint-Germain full back has been out of content for over ten months after suffering several major injury set backs in his rehabilitation. The Portuguese international returned to full collective training with PSG last week and has now been included in Les Parisiens’ match day squad to face Rennes on Sunday.

PSG signed Nuno Mendes from Sporting CP in 2022 following a prior season-long loan spell at the Parc des Princes. This isn’t the first major injury Mendes has sustained at PSG, but fans of Les Parisiens will be glad to see the 21-year-old back  on the pitch for the first time in 10 months.

Marquinhos unavailable

Despite the positive news of Nuno Mendes returning for selection, PSG are having to contend with not being able to select their captain for their upcoming clash against Rennes. Marquinhos (28) suffered a minor injury in PSG’s last match against Nantes and hence has been rested for their next match with their Champions League second-leg against Sociedad on the horizon.
