Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo is reportedly a contender to replace Gennaro Gattuso in the AC Milan hot seat.

The 41-year-old stood down as Rossoneri boss at the end of the season, having failed to deliver Champions League football.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Wolves coach Santo has been proposed to Milan by his agent Jorge Mendes.

Although the report isn’t particularly reliable, it is nonetheless claimed that Mendes has made the Italian giants aware of his client’s potential availability.

It also suggests that Santo is not first choice for Milan and their attentions are focused elsewhere for the time being.

The Portuguese tactician is, of course, unlikely to walk away from Molineux this summer given the project he is building in the Midlands.

Santo and co. also have Europa League football to look forward to next season by virtue of their seventh placed finish last season.
