Gabigol keeps breaking records at Flamengo, and as time goes on, the striker keeps leaving his name more and more in the history books of Mais Querido.

With his latest goal, his 73rd in a Flamengo shirt, Gabigol became Flamengo’s top goalscorer in the 21st century.

Illuminated by the red-black shirt 9, he received the blessing of someone who also marked his time wearing the rubro-negro: Nunes.

“That you are welcome to the gallery of the great strikers and idols in the history of Flamengo, we are very happy to add another companion,” he told UOL Esporte.

“May he be happy and follow with humility to represent the Nation.

“To get everything he wants, there is only one thing left to do: win the Club World Cup. It is what we all want. He is in a wonderful phase and has to seize the moment.”

Gabigol and Flamengo will look to add to their trophy collection on Sunday when they take on Palmeiras in the Supercopa do Brasil final.
