Having won 2-0 at Goodison in December, Nottingham Forest are seeking to complete a first league-double over Everton since 1994/95. The Toffees though are unbeaten in four visits to the City Ground, their longest-ever streak, winning three of them.
Can Nottingham Forest move three points closer to achieving their Champions League dreams? Last weekend, Nuno Espírito Santo's side were beaten for only the eighth time all season, on this occasion defeated 2-1 at Villa Park. Aston Villa scored twice in two minutes early on, and Forest were unable to recover, even if Jota Silva's strike did halve the deficit shortly after the interval.
Nevertheless, having won three on the spin beforehand, the Garibaldi Reds remain third, four points clear of both Chelsea and Newcastle. Thus, in short, every points is precious for Forest, so will the Ciy Ground faithful roar their team to another win come Saturday afternoon?
Visitors Everton though cannot be taken lightly, considering they've lost only one of their last 11. Granted, the Toffees are also winless in six, five of which have finished all square, including last Saturday's stalemate with Arsenal, in which Iliman Ndiaye converted a spot-kick in front of the Gwladys Street End to secure a share of the spoils.
Having only been beaten by league-leaders Liverpool at Anfield since 15 January, David Moyes' men are 15th, 15 points clear of danger, knowing a victory here would see them climb above both Man United at Spurs. So, can the Blues battle to another positive result, or will Forest make home advantage count on the banks of the River Trent?
Nuno Espírito Santo has barely had any injury issues to cotend with all season, but concerns are now starting to pile up. In attack, Chris Wood is still sidelined due to a hip injury suffered on international duty, while both his deputy Taiwo Awoniyi and in-form Anthony Elanga are doubts too.
Meantime, in defence, in the absence of Ola Aina, Nuno switched to a back five at Villa Park, which certainly did not go to plan. This time, Álex Moreno, who was ineligible to face his parent club, is likely to be deployed at left-back, with Neco Williams on the other side.
Nottingham Forest predicted lineup vs Everton: (4-2-2-2): Sels; Williams, Milenković, Murillo, Moreno; Danilo, Yates, Anderson, Domínguez; Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White.
In the absence of Wood, Awoniyi and potentially Elanga too, Forest will need Callum Hudson-Odoi to come to the fore, seeking to add to his five goals this season, yet to net against Everton in five attempts.
David Moyes is without Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrøm, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and potentially Vitaliy Mykolenko, hence why Nathan Patteron filled in at left-back against Arsenal.
In better news, Iliman Ndiaye has featured in the last two matches, after two months on the sidelines, while Dwight McNeil was introduced as a late substitute last Saturday, his first outing since early-December. Lastly, Tim Iroegbunam was handed a rare start at the base of midfield last weekend, but James Garner is set to get the nod against his former side this time.
After scoring five in four Premier League games, Beto is without a goal in five, so can he end this barren run here?
Despite their injury concerns, we are backing Nottingham Forest for victory on Saturday, thereby moving three points to Champions League qualification: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Everton.
