Nottingham Forest are preparing a fresh €30 million offer for Colombian midfielder Richard Rios after Palmeiras rejected their initial bid, according to Sport Italia.
They are determined to sign Rios as part of their plans to strengthen the squad this summer, with European football on the horizon following their seventh-place finish last term.
Palmeiras have also turned down offers from AS Roma and Wolverhampton Wanderers. They want €30m to part ways with Rios, who is under contract until 2027.
Rios has emerged as one of the most dynamic midfielders in South America. He is renowned for his box-to-box energy, physicality, and ability to regain possession.
He has made 35 appearances for Palmeiras this season, contributing four goals and four assists across all competitions.
The 25-year-old has established himself as a regular at international level over the last two years, since breaking into the first team at the 2024 Copa America, where Colombia finished as runners-up.
He further enhanced his reputation at the recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup, particularly in Palmeiras’ goalless draw against Porto.
He caught the eye of Forest’s scouts, who reportedly travelled to watch him live.
Forest have delved into the Brazilian market this summer, having already signed Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus. They could be set for more South American acquisitions.
