Chris Wood’s move from Newcastle to Nottingham Forest has been made permanent after clauses in his loan contract were activated.

That is according to a report from The Athletic, which states that three appearances were all that was required for Forest to be obligated to sign the striker on a long-term basis.

As a result, they will now pay £15m for Wood, who has yet to score but has been a regular in the side under Steve Cooper since his move.

It brings a definitive end to his 12-month spell at Newcastle, having made 39 appearances and scored five goals.
