After losing Niclas Füllkrug at the last minute in the winter, Werder Bremen may be set to lose their other main striker as new German national team player Marvin Ducksch has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, according to Sport Bild.
If Bremen receive a fee for the 29-year-old similar to what they received for Füllkrug in the summer, around €15m, they would consider selling Ducksch. A move to England will also give Ducksch the chance to double his wages of around €2m a year.
This season, Ducksch has five goals and three assists in 11 Bundesliga games for Bremen and his former even earned him a call-up to the German national team where he had brief cameos against Turkey and Austria.
A departure of Ducksch in the winter, although maybe tempting for Bremen would not make sense as they are already low on attacking options after losing Füllkrug at the deadline in the summer. While a move for Ducksch in the winter could hinder his chances of making the German national team squad for Euro 2024, even if it is as a backup to his former teammate.
