24-year-old Union Berlin forward Taiwo Awoniyi is keen to leave the Bundesliga club this summer.
Newly-promoted Premier League side Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Awoniyi, who has a reported release clause in the region on €20 million, according to Sky Germany.
Due to the funds raised due to promotion, around €190m, Nottingham Forest wouldn’t be against paying such a figure for Awoniyi, who scored 15 and created two in 31 Bundesliga games for Union last season.
Speaking to Kicker in February, one day: “Everyone knows that, including here at the club. If I lived in England, it would be easier for my wife and child. Also my sister and a brother live on the island.”
The former Liverpool striker spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Union Berlin before the capital club made the move permanent last summer for €7m.
Nottingham Forest are also in discussions to sign .
