Leicester City youngster Lorenz Hutchinson is on the radar of Nottingham Forest and other Premier League clubs.
Leicester City face a battle to keep hold of highly-rated youngster Lorenz Hutchinson, with Nottingham Forest among the clubs tracking the attacker.
The 17-year-old is one of many exciting talents in the Foxes academy right now, with Jeremy Monga currently the standout, with the 15-year-old winger part of the first-team squad in recent weeks.
There are hopes that Hutchinson will emulate that in the future, but he has yet to put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract.
Therefore, there are doubts about his future, with the Daily Mail revealing that his form at youth level has caught the eye, as Hutchinson has been prolific at that level, which includes scoring 41 goals last season.
They claim that Forest are among those looking to tempt Hutchinson away from the King Power Stadium, although other unnamed top-flight clubs are also in the mix.
It’s also said that Leicester are keen on keeping the player, so they will hope he signs a professional contract.
It’s a difficult time to be a Leicester fan right now, with the club having endured a miserable campaign that has resulted in relegation from the Premier League without putting up much of a fight.
There is constant speculation surrounding the manager, with recent reports stating that Russell Martin will succeed Ruud van Nistelrooy.
To add to their woes, it has been confirmed the club have been hit with a PSR charge, which could bring a points' deduction next season.
Arguably the only positive right now is the academy, with Monga emerging as a top talent in the country, and Jake Evans is another who has been given an opportunity in the top-flight.
The thought of those two playing a more prominent role next season is something that will excite Leicester fans, and Ben Nelson is another who should be a key figure after impressing with Oxford on loan.
Whether Hutchinson is at that level remains to be seen, but with PSR problems going to impact their transfer plans, it’s clear the club should be building around these academy talents moving forward.
So, keeping Hutchinson from Forest, or any other club, must be a priority for Leicester, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out, and if the forward does make a mark in the Championship next season if he sticks around.
