Nottingham Forest have a ‘genuine interest’ in signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja this summer, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a fruitful season-long loan spell with Southampton throughout 2021/22, but it remains to be seen where he will be plying his trade next term.

What is the latest news involving Broja?

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has recently stated that he will assess the capital club’s extensive array of talents who spent the last campaign elsewhere during pre-season.

“They are our players and I want to have them in pre-season and then we decide what’s going on,” confirmed the German tactician.

However, that has not stopped Broja from being linked with a handful of clubs in England and across the continent following his impressive exploits on the south coast.

A recent report from the Daily Mail claimed Serie A giants Inter Milan and Napoli had joined West Ham, Everton and Newcastle United in the hunt for the Albania international’s services.

And NottinghamshireLive have stated that Forest have now entered the race for the in-demand forward’s signature, with a loan move the most likely option for the newly-promoted side.

What has Talbot said about Broja?

Talbot has informed GiveMeSport that he has ‘been told’ that Steve Cooper’s charges have a sincere desire to bring Broja into the club ahead of their first Premier League campaign in 23 years.

In an interview with GMS, he said: “They are interested in Broja, they are.

“But when you have a player who is linked to so many clubs, you see around five clubs linked to him, you just go, ‘that’s just agent noise,’ but I do know, I’ve been told that there is genuine interest from Nottingham Forest in Broja.”

Would Broja be a good signing?

Broja, who is valued at £34m by CIES, has risen through the ranks at boyhood club Chelsea, although has still only made one senior appearance for the west London outfit.

The 6 foot 3 ace furthered his development during a temporary switch to Vitesse Arnhem throughout 2020/21, racking up 14 goal contributions in 34 appearances for the Dutch outfit.

He then announced himself to England football last time out, finding the back of the net on nine occasions and setting up one further strike in 38 outings for Southampton across all competitions.

With the future of Keinan Davis still up in the air, the added firepower that Broja would bring to Forest’s forward line would surely be a welcomed addition, giving them a greater chance of cementing their status as a top-flight club for many years to come.
