The Tricky Trees announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
The 27-year-old joined Nottingham Forest last summer after leaving former club Reading. Wellings went on to score 17 goals in 22 league outings for the East Midlands club as they won the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division title along with promotion to the elite game. Wellings was also an FA Women’s National League Cup winner with Nottingham Forest.
If Nottingham Forest are to enjoy a successful first season in Barclays WSL2, goals will be hugely important and Wellings is certainly a player that knows how to find the back of the net on a regular basis.
After signing on again with Nottingham Forest, Wellings said “I’m delighted to sign a new contract with this ambitious club.
“It was a privilege to be a part of our success last year, and we’re all hungry to push on and prove ourselves at this level. I can’t wait to be back playing at The City Ground in front of our amazing fans.”
Further Nottingham Forest squad news will be revealed by the club in due course.
