Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on a season-long loan deal.
Henderson has been in demand this summer with Newcastle United also considering a move. However, newly-promoted Forest were the ones to reach an agreement with United and the deal was finally confirmed on Saturday.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such a fantastic club with an amazing set of fans and a wonderful history," said Henderson after signing his contract.
“I want to thank the manager and owners at Nottingham Forest for the great opportunity to play for this club in their first season back in the Premier League. I’m really excited to work with everyone at the club from the manager, players and goalkeeper coach Danny Alcock.
"Finally, just a massive thank you to the fans for the welcome I have received and I can’t wait to celebrate some brilliant moments together this coming season."
Henderson spent last season as David de Gea's understudy and pushed for a move away from Old Trafford when it became clear that new manager Erik ten Hag would be persisting with the Spaniard as the club's number-one.
He will be undisputed first choice this season with Brice Samba set to join RC Lens on loan imminently.
