Nottingham Forest have called off their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush on deadline day, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Marmoush scored 17 times for Eintracht Frankfurt last season and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League towards the end of the window.

He emerged as Nottingham Forest’s top target in the last few days after they failed to sign Eddie Nketiah and Santiago Gimenez this summer.

However, due to the German club’s demands, their pursuit of the Eintracht Frankfurt forward has also not gone according to plan.

It has been claimed that Forest have ended their interest in signing the Egyptian striker on the final day of the transfer window.

They tabled two offers for the striker but Eintracht Frankfurt continued to insist on getting more money.

Nottingham Forest do not want to pay the £28m plus asking price Eintracht Frankfurt have set for Marmoush late in the window.

The odds are now firmly against Nottingham Forest signing a new striker unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat.
