Nottingham Forest announce Douglas Luiz signing

Nottingham Forest have completed a deal to bring Douglas Luiz to the City Ground from Juventus.

The 27-year-old Brazil international joins on loan, with Forest obliged to buy if he features in a set number of matches. Should that tally not be reached, the club still hold the option to make the deal permanent for around €30m (£25.9m).

Luiz only made the switch to Italy last summer, leaving Aston Villa for Juventus in a move worth just over £42m on a five-year contract.

His arrival is the latest in a flurry of activity from Forest during the current window. Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Arnaud Kalimuendo have all been added to the squad this week, following the club-record capture of Dan Ndoye from Bologna.

Further additions include Brazilians Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus from Botafogo, while goalkeeper Angus Gunn has also arrived on a free.
