As the financial situation keeps recovering, the temptation to sign superstars will surely return, and one such player Barcelona have always been linked with is Erling Haaland. Speaking to TV3 as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, Laporta was asked about the same, and he said:

“In life, nothing is impossible, but right now it’s not something we’re considering. I don’t think it’s necessary, and he just renewed with City.”

Laporta has always had his way with words, and the way he has phrased this quote is quite brilliant. While not completely shutting the door on signing the Norwegian superstar in the future, he has also ensured that the door isn’t ajar this summer.

Haaland has been one of City’s best players in recent seasons, but fitness issues have not allowed him to replicate his usual quality this season. The €200 million-rated superstar has also not managed to impose himself on big games yet.

While Haaland to Barcelona remains a distant dream for now, Laporta’s comments cleverly leave the door ever so slightly open. His words suggest patience, strategy, and a belief in timing: qualities that have defined his latest tenure.

For now, the idea of Haaland donning the number 9 at Camp Nou, fed by a maturing Lamine Yamal in the number 10 jersey, remains fantasy. However, at Barcelona, where La Masia meets ambition, dreaming is part of the DNA.
