Nuno Espirito Santo has praised his attackers after an impressive performance against Newcastle United in the Premier League

In the post-match conference after the Premier League game against Newcastle United (h/t Football.London), Nuno Espirito Santo has praised the effort of his attackers after an impressive performance from Tottenham Hotspur against the Magpies.

Tottenham Hotspur have had an indifferent start to life under Nuno. With that in mind, there is a little bit of ease in the North London club as they have now recorded back-to-back victories on the PL.  The Portuguese manager would be very happy with his attackers as they managed to score 3 goals against the Tyneside-based club in the first half.

Another great piece of news for the Spurs supporters is that Kane recorded his first goal for this Premier League season against the Toons. The former Wolves coach also praised Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for their solidity in the middle of the pitch that laid the foundation for the players going forward.

Nuno spoke about his attackers and their impact throughout the game including their work rate and off-ball movement:

“I think it’s not only the front four, all the team played good, but of course we’re talking about Sonny, Harry, Lucas, and Tanguy. I think they combined well, they worked very hard without the ball and the way they recovered, with the mobility they created. It was good but everything they did was because they had the foundation behind them. Skippy and Pierre, they did fantastic work.”

Tottenham seems to have regained some of their form but an own goal from Eric Dier set up a tense finish to the match. Spurs will face West Ham United and Manchester United in their two upcoming PL fixtures which could really test their resolution and will to perform consistently.

The North London club would be hoping to continue their winning streak and compete at a higher level this season. The Portuguese manager took over amidst looming uncertainty regarding their star striker Harry Kane and his subsequent goal drought in England’s top-flight which ended in their latest match against the Tyneside-based club.

Nuno seemed really delighted with his team’s performance but the club will have to continue performing this way throughout the season if they are to have a substantial impact this campaign.
