Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has emphatically denied the possibility of Bruno Fernandes leaving the club, despite increasing speculation about Real Madrid’s interest in the Portuguese playmaker.

With Luka Modric in the twilight of his career, Los Blancos are looking for a suitable successor to fill the void once the Croatian legend departs.

The 30-year-old Fernandes has reportedly emerged as a prime candidate for Real Madrid, who see him as an ideal replacement for Modric.

Known for his creativity, vision, leadership, and knack for scoring crucial goals, Fernandes’ profile matches what Madrid are seeking to maintain their dominance in midfield.

Amorim closes the exit doors

Despite the rumours, Amorim has made it clear during a press conference that any suggestion of Fernandes leaving is baseless. His commitment to keeping the Portuguese international at Old Trafford could not have been more direct.

“No, that’s not going to happen,” Amorim stated bluntly, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“I need Bruno here. We want to get the Premier League back, we want the best players to stay with us. He’s the type of player we want, so he’s not going anywhere.”

Amorim’s comments come in response to reports suggesting that Real Madrid are willing to table an offer of up to €90 million for Fernandes.

With age catching up to the Croatian, Madrid are desperate to bring in a player of Fernandes’ calibre to bolster their midfield.

The Portuguese has the versatility to dictate play, contribute defensively, and pop up with key goals when needed – qualities that would undoubtedly suit Carlo Ancelotti’s system.

However, the Manchester United boss has made it crystal clear that Fernandes is central to his plans for the Premier League title chase.
