Norwich City have announced the arrival of their first summer signing, with Ashley Barnes joining the club following the expiry of his contract with Burnley.
Barnes will officially join the Canaries on 1 July, and he has signed a two-year deal at Carrow Road. He will wear the number 10 shirt.
“I am delighted, over the moon that it’s finally done,” the 33-year-old told the club’s official website.
“I think the ambition to get back into the Premier League was the main thing.
“The conversations I had (with Stuart Webber and David Wagner) were brilliant, they showed me how they wanted me to play and how they want me to fit in to the group and I’m happy to totally push us forward and try to get us promoted next season.”
An Austrian international, Barnes played 293 times for Burnley, helping them return to the Premier League and winning the Championship title this season.
He scored 55 goals for the Clarets, 42 of which came in the Premier League.
