Norwich manager Dean Smith is hoping his side can be ‘party poopers’ against Tottenham as they also eye up an additional £2m for their final finishing place.

Norwich are already relegated and few people give them much hope of getting anything out of their game against Tottenham, which Spurs need to win to seal fourth place and Champions League football (unless Arsenal do an Arsenal against Everton).

Dean Smith knows that, should Norwich beat Spurs in their final Premier League game, then they would not only help Arsenal, but could also add another £2m to their coffers before they rock up in the Championship.

“The two million could be useful and is something that it is being dangled above us — and it would be nice to be party poopers,” Smith told reporters.

Arsenal face Everton at the Emirates with the Toffees safe from relegation thanks to their win over Crystal Palace during the week.

Mikel Arteta knows that Arsenal need to win and hope for a miracle at Carrow Road.

Asked about his side’s chances of finishing in the top four, Arteta said, “Very possible.

“And looking back, I’ve been back a few years and seen a few examples of teams that they played in the last game of the season and the things that happened.

“The closer the game is, I am more hopeful.”
