The club are still in negotiations with Orjan Nyland, as they look to tie the goalkeeper down to a new deal at Carrow Road.

Nyland joined Norwich on a deal until the end of the season in January, with the former Aston Villa goalkeeper joining on a free transfer.

Nyland is yet to make an appearance for the Canaries, though, being an unused substitute on 11 occasions and playing back-up to Tim Krul.

But the 30-year-old is still in negotiations with Norwich, as the club look to tie the Norwegian shot-stopper down to a new contract.

The Athletic claim that both parties are still deciding on whether a new deal would be the best move heading into next season.

The Verdict

I’m not really sure that Nyland would want to sign a new deal to be honest.

His lack of game time has been an issue since he joined, however he probably would have known that he wouldn’t get a lot of it ahead of Tim Krul.

But he’s 30 now, and can he afford to keep playing back-up to Krul as they prepare for life back in the Premier League?

Surely he will want to play regularly and be a first-choice goalkeeper somewhere, with time running out in his career?
