That's according to a report from The Scottish Sun, who say that fee is the minimum the Canaries will demand for the sale of the Republic of Ireland international.

Having initially come through the youth ranks at Carrow Road, Idah has already made over 100 senior appearances in all competitions for the club.

However, he has at times found it hard to make himself a regular in the starting line-up, or make the impact that Norwich might have hoped for.

As a result, he was loaned out in the January transfer window, joining Scottish champions Celtic on a deal until the end of the season.

Since making that move, the 23-year-old has enjoyed more success, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 14 games, helping to put Celtic in a strong position to defend their title in the process.

That has inevitably led to questions about Idah's future, and it seems Norwich's own stance on that, has just become a bit clearer.

Norwich City set Adam Idah asking price amid Celtic interest

With Celtic no doubt considering a permanent move for the striker given his impact in Glasgow, the price they would have to pay for such a deal may now have been revealed.

As per this latest update, Norwich will demand no less than £5 million for the permanent sale of Idah once the transfer market reopens.

It is also suggested that some of the Canaries' Championship rivals could also pursue a deal for the 23-year-old at the end of this season.

As things stand, there are still more than four years remaining on Idah's contract with Norwich, securing his future at Carrow Road until the end of the 2027/28 season.

That of course, means his parent club will be in a strong position to respond to any offers that come in for the striker this summer.

Norwich City are still chasing Championship promotionWith just one game of the regular Championship season still to be played, Norwich currently sit fifth in the table, three points clear of seventh place Hull City.

David Wagner's side therefore know that they will guarantee themselves a shot at promotion if they avoid defeat in their final match on Saturday afternoon.

That game sees them travel to St Andrew's to face a Birmingham City who are still battling to avoid relegation to League One.

Norwich City have set a fair asking price for Adam Idah

It does feel as though Norwich have the right to be demanding this sort of fee for Idah in the summer.

The striker's form for Celtic will surely have attracted plenty of attention in him ahead of the window, so the Canaries may have options when deciding who they want to sell to.

It therefore makes sense to look for as high a bid as possible, especially given his contract situation means they would not be taking a risk of losing him on a free by pricing clubs out this time round.

Indeed, Idah's form for Celtic has shown what an asset he could have the potential to be for Norwich themselves, so they should certainly be looking to get their money's worth now.

With all that in mind, it could even be argued that if Idah is to leave Carrow Road in the summer for good, it could be for a bit more than even £5 million, as he is proving that he can fire in the goals if he's given a good run of games.
