The Canaries narrowly missed out on promotion under David Wagner in the previous campaign, leading to his departure as manager.

He oversaw a sixth place finish in the table, but a play-off semi-final defeat to Leeds United consigned them to another year in the second division.

Hoff Thorup will be hoping to use the summer transfer window to make improvements to the first team squad, to better shape it to his liking.

The window is open until 30 August, leaving plenty of time for any remaining deals to be finalised.

Here we look at all the latest headlines surrounding Norwich

Celtic are preparing an increased offer for striker Adam Idah, according to Football Insider.

It is believed that a bid in the region of £6 million could be enough to convince the Norfolk outfit to cash in on the Irishman.

It is understood that Idah is keen to complete the deal, having enjoyed a successful loan spell at Parkhead during the second half of the previous campaign.

He contributed eight goals and two assists from 15 appearances in the Premiership, with his goals playing a key role in the club securing a domestic double under Brendan Rodgers (all stats from Fbref).

Idah struggled for game time under Wagner, but could be afforded a fresh opportunity to prove himself under the new coach at Carrow Road, if he opts to stay with the club beyond this summer.

The new Norwich boss has reiterated his desire to see Idah stay with the club this summer despite such intense interest from Celtic.

The Dane believes that his arrival means that every player will get a chance to prove themselves before any decision is made over their future.

“See it from another perspective,” said Hoff Thorup, via Pink Un.

“Imagine that he was a striker in another club with his track record, with his history, academy background and so on. What would we say about him? We would say he is quite an interesting striker, I would guarantee.

“It will be wrong for me to say that we cannot spend time on him, or we should not give him a fair chance as well.

“I hope that he will find that the way we do things now will also encourage him, and will also give him the feeling that, ‘Okay this is the right place for me’.

"That's the ambition for now, because I think he's a good player with some good qualities and he could definitely be a striker for us.”

Hoff Thorup has revealed that Norwich are aiming to bring in a left-back this summer but admitted he is hoping there won’t be too much turnover in his squad.

His former full-back at old club Nordsjaelland, Martin Frese, is currently available as a free agent. Still, it’s believed he is fielding interest from a number of clubs, with other options also on the table for the Canaries.

“Looking a little bit into the future for this club the ambition should be that we have a very, very great team and we can support that with two to three top players in every window,” said Hoff Thorup, via Pink Un.

“So we should never be in a situation with a window where the turnover is too big, and we have to bring in too many new players and say goodbye to too many players.

“No, we should have that solid base in the team where we can add something top quality from outside.

“Of course, maybe we need one two or three players more than that, I don't know, we have to find out but definitely we need a left-back, but what is important is that a guy that we bring in should have the qualities, and then I prefer that we take our time and we find the right one instead of things that just go fast.”
