According to a recent report from BBC Sport, Norwich have received offers in the region of £2.5m for Kamara from the Championship duo ahead of a likely exit in the coming days.

Kamara is reported to have submitted a request to leave Carrow Road last week and could well emerge as the latest high-profile departure this summer following the exits of Gabriel Sara, Adam Idah and most recently Jonathan Rowe.

Johannes Hoff Thorup has been dealt significant challenges in his inaugural months managing the club after being appointed as David Wagner's replacement earlier on in the summer. The Dane has primarily conducted his transfer business with a foreign strategy by bringing in numerous players from overseas to accompany youthful domestic acquisitions such as Ben Chrisene and two-time promotion-winning defender Callum Doyle.

Norwich are one of six Championship sides yet to chalk up a victory in the newly-initiated season, with a Carabao Cup second-round tie at Crystal Palace on the agenda this evening before Saturday afternoon's trip to promotion hopefuls Coventry City.

Norwich City's Abu Kamara transfer latest amid Hull City, Luton Town claim

BBC Sport's reveal, which was officially disclosed by reporter Nick Mashiter via his X account on Tuesday afternoon, offers crucial background to prior claims made on Kamara's immediate future across the last 24 hours.

A report from The Pink Un yesterday evening claimed that three separate Championship sides had made bids for Kamara which were rejected, although they are anticipated to return with increased offers before Friday's 11pm deadline.

It appears as though two of those three outfits have been officially namechecked by Mashiter, while Portsmouth have held an interest in returning Kamara to Fratton Park following his impressive loan spell on the south coast last term. However, Blues boss John Mousinho has confirmed the club have not yet advanced their efforts to sign him again.

The Pink Un's initial Kamara report did not mention the financial value of the bids, though it was reiterated there that a departure would not be given the green light unless the proposal is on Norwich's terms and they are believed to value the young forward in the region of £2m.

Following the significant departures of Sara, Idah and Rowe, the Canaries believe themselves to be under little pressure to offload further assets and have scope to play hardball.

Kamara, who is an England international at U20 level, has made two substitute appearances for Norwich thus far in the Championship but was dismissed from the matchday squad for Saturday's home outing against Sheffield United as Hoff Thorup explained of the external distractions surrounding the winger at the minute.

He said of Kamara: "I spoke with him the other day, and we just decided that the game will not be for him, for both parties in this, not to create too much distraction and too much attention about that.

"I think that was also what he, actually at the end, thought was the best decision. So we take it a little bit day by day with Abu and see how it goes.

"We don't give any players away for free. So that's the situation. I like him. He's a good lad, and I think he performs well in training. And he's a big part of the group, and will still be, until there is a transfer deal that we can accept.

"Because I think we've proven that with both Jonny (Rowe) and Adam (Idah) and Gabby (Sara) so far this window, that's we have players here on contracts and we need them for performance, and we can only accept if there's a good offer."

Norwich City may be undervaluing Abu Kamara as Hull City, Luton Town lodge offers

With Norwich's valuation already outlined, it appears plausible that Hull and Luton's offerings will be accepted, which will probably not go down all that well with supporters.

They will have wanted Kamara to have a significant impact this season after his impressive displays for Portsmouth and have every right to demand a higher fee for Norwich to part ways with the prospect.

As aforementioned, Norwich are not in a position whereby they need to sanction further sales and can therefore drive a hard bargain, which is exactly what they should be doing with Kamara despite his vocal intentions to move on to pastures new. Still only 21 years of age, his ability and potential is worth far more than £2.5m and Hull and Luton could each find themselves a potential bargain.
