Norwich boss Smith: Beating Tottenham will be worth fortune to us
Tribal Football
Norwich City boss Dean Smith says they're keen to do Arsenal a favour in the top-four race by beating Tottenham Hotspur today to secure an extra £2million windfall.
Spurs found themselves four points behind their local rivals just over a week ago, but back-to-back defeats for Mikel Arteta's men means that the Lillywhites just need to secure a point against the Canaries on Sunday to clinch a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League.
However, Smith has pointed out that if Norwich were to finish 19th instead of 20th it would earn them over £2million more in prize money, something that could be very useful for his side as they look to rebuild in the Championship next term.
"Yes, but is he happy like me?" the former Aston Villa boss said when asked about Tottenham boss Antonio Conte's potential payout for finishing top-four.
"The two million could be useful and is something that it is being dangled above us — and it would be nice to be party poopers."
