Norwich City boss David Wagner has claimed he doesn't care about Sunderland's 5-1 defeat to Stoke City last weekend but admitted that after suffering such a loss "you have the hunger to correct it".

The Championship side head to Carrow Road on Sunday and will be keen to bounce back after their hiding at the hands of Alex Neil's Potters.

Neil left Sunderland to take charge of Stoke earlier in the season, in a move that has looked questionable given his new side's struggles.

They put five past the Wearsiders on his return to the Stadium of Light, however, and handed them their third defeat on the bounce.

Tony Mowbray will be hoping to right that slide when they head to face in-form Norwich.

Wagner was pressed on how he felt that result could impact Sunday's game at Carrow Road.

He told FLW: "Normally, always when you concede a defeat you have the hunger to correct it.

"But what I can't influence is if they would have won, drawn, or lost. I can't influence that so this means I don't care.

"I'm focussed on us and we have to make sure that whatever their result recently was, that we play on our best and that we have the greatest support possible on Sunday to be successful again."

Sixth-placed Norwich are six points ahead of the Black Cats, who are 10th, as things stand.

The Canaries beat Sunday's opponents 1-0 in the reverse fixture in August but have suffered defeat on Sunderland's last two visits to Carrow Road.
