Norwegian whizkid Schjelderup: Why I chose Nordsjaelland over Liverpool, Spurs
Tribal Football
Norwegian whizkid Andreas Schjelderup admits he joined Denmark's FC Nordsjaelland ahead of interest from Europe's biggest clubs.
The 17 year-old attacker has been likened to Real Madrid star Eden Hazard.
He told TV2: "I have visited Ajax four times, PSV four times, Tottenham, Liverpool, Juventus, Fulham, Atalanta and Bayern Munich.
“Nordsjaelland is a club that has shown that it gives opportunities to young people and invests a lot in their development. Interest from clubs in Italy, England and Spain was very tempting. I'm a Liverpool fan myself, but I didn't want to be one of the many talents there.
"In those clubs you have to take a longer path to reach the first team."
FCN coach Flemming Poulsen said: "He is a very special player. His potential is huge. He will become a top player in one of Europe's top five leagues."
