Nordi Mukiele was an outcast in the Paris Saint-Germain squad and didn’t start on a regular basis which prompted a loan move to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer. Upon his return to Germany, where he played for RB Leipzig between 2018 and 2022, the French defender has found himself in demand again after a difficult start to the season.
Arriving at Bayer on loan without a buy option, Leverkusen want to sign Mukiele on a permanent basis but they will have to negotiate with PSG.
Speaking on his future, Mukiele said, via Kicker: “To be honest, I’m not thinking about that. I’m just thinking about giving everything for this club, in every game, in every training session. For everything that they’ve given me since the first day I’ve been here.”
After difficult start to his time at Bayer, Mukiele said: “I wasn’t ready at the beginning because it had been a long time before that without me being in the starting lineup. That wasn’t easy, even considering how last season as for me.”
Declaring his love for the club, the Frenchman added: “My teammates have helped me a lot to feel good every day. That’s what happened. When I’m happy, I play well.” Discussing his future, the 27-year-old added: “We’ll see what happens, but I’m very grateful for everything that they’ve given me. I hope it will continue like this in the future.”
