Noni Madueke has made the decision to return to Eindhoven this weekend after leaving PSV for Chelsea during the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old made the switch to Chelsea around four months ago to join the project at Stamford Bridge under the new Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.
Madueke has made eight appearances since moving back to England and netted his first goal for the club during their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal earlier this month, which saw him earn another start in the 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth last weekend.
Madueke moved to England after an offer in excess of £30 million was too hard to turn down, seeing the attacker pen a seven-and-a-half year deal, with the option of a further year, at Chelsea.
It ended a five-year stay in the Netherlands having moved from Tottenham’s academy to rise through the ranks at PSV before breaking into the first team.
Having left abruptly to finalise his move to Chelsea, Madueke was unable to say goodbye to the PSV supporters. But now he will get the chance to do so this weekend after they play their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
PSV have confirmed that Madueke will be in attendance for their clash against Fortuna Sittard on Sunday and will go onto the pitch at half-time to say goodbye to the fans.
A club announcement read: “Noni Madueke will return to the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven on Sunday, ahead of his former club’s Eredivisie encounter with Fortuna Sittard. The English winger will be given an opportunity to say his goodbyes during half-time to all PSV fans. Noni made a move from PSV to Chelsea FC from London during the mid-winter break.
“The technically skilled attacker joined PSV as a youth player and made his first-team debut at the age of 17. He soon earned a reputation as a direct, powerful and versatile forward who could make the difference. Featuring in eighty games for PSV in all competitions, he scored twenty goals and won both the Dutch Super Cup and the KNVB Cup. He returned to his native country in the winter transfer window to join Chelsea FC.
“Noni will be in the Philips Stadion on Sunday to thank all the fans for their unwavering support.”
