Noelle Maritz had become the latest Arsenal player to commit her future to the club after putting pen to paper on a new deal.

Maritz joins fellow defenders Lotte Wubben-Moy and Steph Catley in signing fresh terms with the Gunners over the last three weeks. Like Wubben-Moy and Catley, the length of Maritz's contract has not been disclosed.

Maritz joined Arsenal from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2020, and has established herself as a regular starter and consistent performer since her arrival.

"I’m really happy – it’s amazing," Maritz told Arsenal's official club website. “I think we have a really good group of girls and the staff is really good.

"I think everybody has the ambition to take it to the next level and the club is really pushing for it. Hopefully in the future we can make a big step in that direction."

Maritz was Jonas Eidevall's first choice right-back throughout the course of the 2021/22 campaign as the Gunners missed out on the WSL title by a single point.

The 26-year-old has made 49 appearances for the club since her 2020 arrival, scoring two goals.

"I’m delighted that Noelle has signed a new contract here," Eidevall said. "She has a great deal of experience of competing at the highest level in Europe and has proven herself as a key player here with us.

"I know she can continue to make a big contribution and am looking forward to the future."
