Inter Milan will not have a “mass exodus” of players from their squad during the upcoming international break.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, note that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will have a few more players at his disposal than usual during training.

If there is a drawback to having multiple international-quality players in Inter’s squad, it comes during the international break.

The majority of players in the Nerazzurri squad are full internationals.

That means that most Inter players tend to receive call-ups during international breaks.

The effects of this were certainly on show during the summer.

The bulk of Inter’s squad were in action during the Euros and the Copa America.

That meant that, when Inter began their preseason training camp, coach Inzaghi was only able to work with a relatively small handful of players.

That was far from optimal as far as Inzaghi having the chance to work with his players tactically, and monitor their physical condition leading up to the start of the season.,

There will still be plenty of Inter players out with their national teams during the break.

But as Tuttosport notes, there will be a few players staying back despite being regulars with their national sides.

Firstly, Italian international duo Matteo Darmian and Francesco Acerbi will be staying back.

Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti has decided not to call up the veteran pair. Therefore, they will be able to use the break to rest up and train without any rush.

Meanwhile, French international defender Benjamin Pavard has also not received a call-up. This represents another boost for Inzaghi.

And the same is true of another defender, Stefan de Vrij.

De Vrij was a regular starter for the Netherlands throughout the Euros this summer. However, since he is just coming back from a thigh injury, he will not be part of the Oranje squad over the next couple weeks.

Meanwhile, in the case of defender Alessandro Bastoni and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, both will be going away on international duty despite picking up minor muscle problems.
