Borussia Monchengladbach have not received any ‘concrete offers’ for Manu Kone despite the midfielder’s desire to leave the club.
Kone has informed the Bundesliga side of his wish for a new challenge and Monchengladbach are prepared to sell the 23-year-old for a fee in the region of €20m (£16.9m).
The Frenchman has had interest from Premier League teams in recent transfer windows with Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle all named as admirers, though his stock has fallen following an injury-hit season in Germany.
Kone had a breakout season in 2022/23, where the midfielder ranked in the Bundesliga’s top 10 players for passes into the final third, progressive passes, tackles, successful take-ons and fouls drawn. However, he made just 18 league starts last season due to injury and Monchengladbach are prepared to sanction his sale.
Sky Germany are reporting that there have been ‘no concrete offers’ for the player, however, despite Monchengladbach’s willingness to do business for a modest fee. There have been enquiries from clubs in Italy, though no formal bids.
Kone featured twice this summer as France won the Silver Medal at the 2024 Olympic football tournament in Paris.
