Christopher Nkunku said farewell to RB Leipzig in style as they saw off Eintracht Frankfurt to lift the DFB-Pokal for a second successive season.
Scorers: Nkunku 71′, Szoboszlai 85′.
The Frenchman, who has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, scored and provided an assist as Leipzig proved victorious in Berlin once again.
A cup final that was little on goalmouth action sprung to life late in the second half when Nkunku shone to make the difference.
First, the 25-year-old wriggled past three Frankfurt defenders in the box before striking a low drive at goal which took two deflections before flying past Kevin Trapp.
Nkunku then held off four Frankfurt defenders following a smart Leipzig move before laying the ball into the path of Dominik Szoboszlai to slot the ball home to put the game beyond all doubt five minutes from time.
Marco Rose leads the club to their second trophy following the first DFB-Pokal win last season as Nkunku likely signs off with a man-of-the-match performance in the German capital.
