Nkounkou To Start, Davies On The Bench | 3-4-3 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Burnley

Everton will face off against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon hoping to secure all three points on the road. The Toffees suffered a bitter 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds United last weekend, so Carlo Ancelotti will be eager to get a positive response from his players in the Premier League this weekend.

The Merseyside outfit will set themselves up in a 3-4-3 formation with Niels Nkounkou expected to return to feature as the left wing-back. However, his inclusion would mean that Tom Davies has to drop to the bench as Ancelotti is likely to use Alex Iwobi on the right flank, a position where he found so much joy versus Fulham last month.

Defence

Jordan Pickford will operate in between the sticks for the Toffees despite his inconsistent form this season. Ancelotti might choose to go with a back three of Ben Godfrey, Michael Keane and Mason Holgate as the defensive trio look to keep Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez and Chris Wood quiet during the 90 minutes.

Yerry Mina will have to settle for a spot on the bench but could come on to provide some added defensive protection in the second half if required.

Midfield

Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will anchor the Everton midfield as they look to work hard towards offering enough protection for their teammates at the back. The midfield pair will also have to pass the ball well so that they can engineer some decent openings in the opposition half. As mentioned earlier, Nkounkou will get the nod to feature on the left-wing while Alex Iwobi gets another chance to impress from the right.

Fabian Delph, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the midfield positions.

Attack

Ancelotti’s frontline will be comprised of Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Rodriguez. The talented trio struggled to break the Leeds defence down last weekend, so they will be desperate to bang in some goals when they lace up to face off against the Clarets defenders this weekend.

Cenk Tosun and Bernard will make up the numbers on the bench as they wait for their chance to impress as the second-half substitutes if Ancelotti decides to call upon their services.
