Eddie Nketiah is ‘ready to stay’ at Arsenal with the Gunners having submitted a final contract offer to the forward.

Arsenal are understood to have offered the academy product a long-term contract at the Emirates with Nketiah having finished the season as first-choice under Mikel Arteta, scoring five goals in eight Premier League starts.

The Mail are reporting that the Gunners offer is a five-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week, whilst a significant signing on fee – worth around £5m over the course of the contract – has also been included.

Nketiah is a free agent this summer and is being chased by several Premier League rivals, with West Ham and Crystal Palace among the clubs interested in signing the 22-year-old.

Nketiah had been reluctant to commit to a new deal after struggling for regular first-team football in North London, but has since impressed since being handed his first league start of the campaign in April.

He is now understood to be open to the prospect of remaining at Arsenal, despite the Gunners interest in signing new forwards this summer with Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus believed to be a leading target.

Arsenal have already agreed a new deal for Mohamed Elneny with the Egyptian signing a one-year contract extension.
