FC Barcelona are battling Paris Saint-Germain and other top European clubs for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. However, the Catalan side could receive help from one of their partnerships to gain an advantage.
In the last couple of days, Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport reported that Paris Saint-Germain are working on negotiating personal terms with Williams. As a result, this information is probably sounding the alarms over at Barcelona.
According to a report from CaughtOffside last month, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in Williams.
However, SPORT reports that Nike might push for Barcelona to sign Williams, knowing that his addition could bring in significant revenue.
This summer, Williams has caught the eye of several top European clubs looking to strengthen their attacks. His standout performance at UEFA Euro 2024, where he played a crucial role in Spain winning the competition, has significantly boosted his value.
Moreover, the 22-year-old performed well at the club level as he made 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic Club, scoring eight goals and registering 19 assists last season. Additionally, the winger played a role in winning the 2024 Copa del Rey.
