Nigeria part ways with head coach José Peseiro

Nigeria have come to a mutual parting of ways with head coach José Peseiro, seeing the Portuguese manager put an end to a two-year stint the with the Super Eagles,

Peseiro recently lead Nigeria to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final, where his side lost to hosts Ivory Coast 2-1.

But the up-and-down nature of Nigeria’s results during his two years in charge in have ultimately led to Peseiro’s departure.

“Yesterday, we concluded our contract with the NFF,” Peseiro said on social media.

“It was a pride and honor to coach the Super Eagles. It has been 22 months of immense dedication, sacrifice, emotion, and enormous enthusiasm. We feel a sense of fulfillment.”
