Nicolo Zaniolo could miss the Euros for Italy | OneFootball

Aston Villa man Nicolo Zaniolo’s inclusion in Italy’s squad for the European championships has now come under doubt.

Villa have qualified for the Champions League after Tottenham’s 2-0 loss Manchester City but they were held to a 3-3 draw themselves by Liverpool yesterday. Zaniolo had featured in the game but was taken off due to injury.

Sky Italia state that the injury can keep him out of the Euros as the tests have revealed that the winger has picked up a microfracture on his left leg. Zaniolo will soon undergo further tests in Italy to understand the extent of the injury and to know how long he could be out.

Italy boss Luciano Spalletti has already stated that about 80 percent of the squad for the Euros is already decided and the rest will be determined by the players’ performances for their clubs. Zaniolo’s injury is a real blow as he seemed like a candidate for selection.
