Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be relieved to see that Nicolo Barella has returned to training with a personalised session before joining the full team today, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport, there was also a chance that the international break may have taken its toll on Nicolo Barella and that he would be too tired to take part against Lazio.

He had the personalised training session to make sure he has fully recovered from his two games in the UEFA Nations League for Italy, and he will join up with full training today for final match preparation.

Italy’s international break was ultimately disappointing as they were beaten 2-1 by Spain in the semi final.

That meant a third placed play off had to be navigated against Belgium. Nicolo Barella scored an excellent volley in that game which Italy won 2-1 overall.
