Nicolas Valentini offered to Roma: Giallorossi not interested | OneFootball

Recent rumors of Roma’s interest in Boca Juniors defender Nicolas Valentini have been squashed.

The capital club do not appear to have manifested particular interest in the 23-year-old player, writes siamolaroma.it.

The news portal suggests that Valentini’s agents offered him to Roma in recent days.

Additionally, informal contact was made between the Argentine’s intermediaries and the Giallorossi club. However, no concrete developments emerged from this initial interaction.

For Roma, Valentini’s name is not currently among the priorities on the transfer-market.

The assessment of the situation is mainly of a tactical nature: in the last two years at Boca, Valentini has consolidated himself in the role of left back and, given his physical size, he would not be considered a priority by De Rossi, who knows him very well.

Furthermore, it is not yet clear how he could free himself from Boca Juniors: the player’s contract is set to expire later this year but Boca would like a compensation in excess of 2-3 million euros.

In short, the Giallorossi club did not want to delve into Valentini’s situation any further.
